Hip-Hop artist Monte “Tee Headfirst” Brown, born and raised in Richmond, Virginia is making his name known and presence felt in the music industry. At a young age, Tee had dreams of becoming an NBA star. Tee, knowing a 9 to 5 was not ideal for his lifestyle, growing up without a father figure and living in the inner city turned him to the streets. Tee started rapping in 2007, although it was just a hobby at the time, Tee felt that music was a positive influence that could change his life and deter him from the streets. That same year, Tee’s close cousin Dermon Lee “Tray” Brown was murdered due to gun violence at a party. From this moment, Tee knew it was crucial for him to take his talent of rapping to a whole new level in hopes of securing a better future for him and his loved ones. On May 16,2008, Tee welcomed his beautiful daughter T’maya Averett into the world. T’maya became an even greater motivating force in Tee’s life to fulfill his dreams. Fast forward to present times, Monte is not only known in Richmond, VA but also Atlanta, GA and surrounding areas. He has also worked with a plethora of popular faces in the music industry including, rapper Rocko, DJ Holiday, producer Zaytoven and video director Jordan Towers to name a few.
Tee is currently pushing his newest single entitled “Thoughts” featuring Nigel Damani. Listening to “Thoughts”, Tee discusses finding direction, hope, life struggles and keeping good company around. “Surrounded by the real, keep the fakes from round’ me…anything worth having is going to take a challenge.” “Thoughts” which not only has a smooth melody but has a relatable and positive message behind it.
