LOS ANGELES, CA – Brotherly love has a whole different meaning when it comes to hip-hop duo Conceptz. Comprised of two talented brothers, Highrowglyphfix and Short Fuze, Conceptz has been on the music scene since 2011. Originally fom Orange County, New York, the two brothers have always been heavily into music, both separately and collectively. According to younger brother Highrowglyphfix, his brother Short Fuze is who encouraged him to pursue music. Originally, Short Fuze was a member of a different performance group, though after learning of his brother’s musical and writing skills, he thought it would be a good idea to join forces. Since this moment, this decision has proven to be successful for the pair.
After becoming Conceptz, the brothers set out to make and release the best music possible. The first song they released, “Roll It Up”, was received well overall, though the duo never succumbed to complacency. Following this release was their mixtape called “Euphoria”, which produced a great deal of success for Conceptz. Newfound fans and close friends of the group encouraged them to continue to putting out more music, which is something they truly appreciated and further served as their motivation.
After taking a brief hiatus from releasing music, Conceptz came back stronger than ever. “We felt like we needed more music,” said Highrowglyphfix. “We wanted to perform more so people could see us in action.” The pair committed to building on their existing musical catalogue, as they returned to the scene in 2013. Conceptz began collaborating with major mainstream artists, such as Rick Ross, Gucci Mane, Tony Toni Tone and Wiz Khalifa. In 2015, Conceptz single, “Funky 5”, was on the 58th Grammy Awards Ballot for Best Video, which was monumental for both brothers and represented a milestone in their career. As mentioned prior, the group was no stranger to success, as they continued traveling and opening up for mainstream entertainers like Kool G Rap and Ghostface Killah. At this time, it’s safe to say Conceptz was taking over the music scene.
As of Monday, Conceptz dropped their newest single titled “Grind Mode”, which includes a feature from Styles P. Though the track is freshly released, fans are already hyped up about it. If they weren’t busy enough already, Conceptz is continuing to book more performances, as they focus on the Tri-State area in addition to bringing their music to major cities in Florida, Georgia, Texas and California. When asked what a typical performance is like for their fans, Conceptz said, “It’s different each time. We rehearse on our own time, and the energy level is always up to 10. We simply just try to put on a good show.” And, they continue to do just that.
In order to truly experience the level of genuine, artistic talent that Conceptz possesses, “you have to get to know to find out”, according to Short Fuze. The duo is excited for what is to come, as they wrap up shooting the visuals for their single “Fall” featuring Cassidy. If it’s anything like the rest of their music from their repertoire, this will surely be a definitive hit.
