The DaredevyL, born Deven Mapson, is a music producer/artist/songwriter from the west side of Atlanta, GA. Growing up in the Mozley Park and Dixie Hills areas of Atlanta. DevyL began rapping at the early age of 9 while participating in various musical activities in his local Baptist Church. Around the age of 13, he took his talent to another level when he decided to make his own beats after periods of being impatient with producers around Atlanta, as well as wanting to learn more about his craft and gaining more love for what was a hobby at the moment. He began making beats on FL Studio 5 on a Dell PC and recorded vocals with a simple Radio Shack Computer Talkback Microphone.
With years of practice and a few add ons to his musical equipment, DevyL began working on a Motif 6 and recorded his vocals on Pro Tools with a Blue Microphone. His talents have called him to work with and produce for fellow artists such as Cyhi The Prynce, YC, Kidd Kidd, Shod Da God, Taylor J, Shawty Lo, Zed Zilla, Money Makin’ Nique, Young Dose, Losie, and the list goes on and on. He has also rapped and featured on songs with fellow artists Future, Gorilla Zoe, YC, Kidd Kidd, and more. As of right now DaredevyL has been releasing a chain of EPs under the title “BlackJack EP”, which is a collection of 7 song, 21 minute projects that have dropped every month on the 21st day since 7.21.14. Daredevyl plans to continue this project until he retires from hip hop indefinitely.
